When I wrote this essay at 6th grade in Mrs. , I was so dreaming as a great basketball player in future. I've tried my best to make it come true. I can say I'm the one bringing lots of productive quality to the team on and off court.

My name is Joonha Ko, and I am a senior at West High School in Torrance, California. I believe that basketball is the most exciting sport because it is dynamic and there is beauty to five players playing in union. I’m extremely excited to have a chance to play basketball at a great college. Over the past ten years, I have developed my passion as well as skills for basketball and am looking forward to pursuing my education and athletic career with you.
Since five years old, I have played on different competitive club teams as well as the Varsity basketball team in schools. Please refer to the attached pages to review my career and game experiences. Also, I’ve worked out and trained with great trainers and coaches to be a much more competitive and an improved basketball player.
One of the most memorable tournaments that I played was with friends in LBAA National Tournament 2015 in Valparaiso University, Indiana. We finished fifth place and lost by 1 point to the championship team. We were all fully engaged in the games, and I honorably achieved the title of All Tournament Team.
My strengths are in controlling and coordinating the games. Also, as a born-team player, I’ve frequently heard from coaches and trainers that I have a wide vision and a high basketball IQ. These attributes made me a great team leader, yielding in a lot of great wins and honorable personal achievements. I believe that all coaches want to play with players who understand and can execute their strategies on the courts. I’m confident that I’m a team player by nature, and this feature has contributed to build teamwork and team chemistry.
I intend to utilize my in-depth experience in basketball, team-based mindset, and skills to play college basketball. I’m a diligent worker and passionate about basketball. I want to be a valuable asset for your team and will use this chance as an opportunity to mature and develop my life.
